In 1985, George Gittoes spent time in the remote communities of Northern Territory Australia, and documented a vast range of cultural stories. He produced three 60-minute films: Unbroken Spirit, Warriors and Lawmen, and Frontier Women.
UNBROKEN SPIRIT
Unbroken Spirit follows the lives of stockmen working on one of the largest cattle stations in Australia.
WARRIORS AND LAWMEN
The story of Larry Boy, who murdered his wife and the police hunt that ensued from Mataranka in the Northern Territory. The documentary shows the relationship between the European law and Aboriginal law, and covers two criminal cases from 1983 and 1968 which shows some of the problems involved.
FRONTIER WOMEN
Frontier Women examines the lives of the women living and working in remote cattle stations in the Northern Territory of Australia.
